Love the Fylde is an ecumenical movement, working together to strengthen unity, prayer and mission among leaders and churches on the Fylde Coast. It began as a prayer movement and quickly grew as a desire for joint mission and working together was established. We look for the 'life and blessing' that flows from unity as described in Psalm 133. Below is just one report of what we've been up to recently:
The 'Take Up Your Cross' joint Easter witness took place on 15th April in the centre of Blackpool and saw hundreds of local Christians join Church Leaders from across denominations, the Salvation Army Band, local musicians Keith & Jenny Raby, Blackpool Street Angels and The Gideons. People brought crosses from all over the Fylde and a joint witness had been held in St Annes as well as other areas before the event. The result was an incredible time of worship and witness to the real meaning of Easter! The Gideons were able to hand out 200 New Testaments to passers by and talk to them about the salvation that The Cross brings. Several people have made commitments on the day and have since attended local churches.
